"Top Ten" watch for every occasion

I purchased this watch after reading a "Top Ten" list of men's watches. All but one of the watches sold for more than $1,000 or more. In some cases, much more. I liked the watch, but was sure the price quoted in the list was a misprint. Nope. The watch was on my wrist shortly there after. The leather band and titanium case make for a nautical style watch. The rotating bezel, titanium case and available titanium band makes for a seaworthy dive watch capable of withstanding a depth of 200 meters. Having this handsome watch, especially with both the leather and titanium bands, is much like having a watch for every occasion. From sport to casual to your best suit, this is a watch that will be noticed.

After shopping around and buying a Tissot T-Sport that was unfortunately returned since it was losing time, I ordered the Citizen's BL5250 as a replacement. My order was received in two days just as promised.

The watch is stunning, not too large as to be obnoxious, but big enough to easily read and get noticed. Out of the box the watch was running and date was correct. All I had to do was set the time (really just the hour since the minute count was correct). I did have to use the mini-disk that came with the watch to get the hang of setting the time, but was done in under 10 minutes. Many poster mention that this watch is hard to set. Use the CD, it makes setting the watch a breeze.

The band is supple brown leather and very comfortable right out of the box, I think it will only get more comfortable as it wears in a bit, it compliments the watch perfectly.

I want to start by saying that I did not buy this watch from Amazon, however if I would have, I would have saved money. I have bought from Amazon several times and the service is amazing. Back to the watch. I bought this watch about 4 years ago when it first came out and couldn't be happier with my purchase. They say that Rolex is the standard for precision time keeping with a +/- 1 sec a day spec. Well I set my Citizen 4 years ago to GMT time down to the second and it hasn't even lost or gain 1 second in 4 years. It's still precisely as I set it. That, in my opinion, is precision time keeping. It has performed flawlessly. I still get compliments on weekly basis without fail. The only negative I would say is that when the crown is in the "zero" position, it will change functions like switch to chronograph, alarm, etc if it is accidentally turned. This happens to me primarily because I have big wrists which can turn the crown. I would have preferred for the this function to have been at position "one" or "two" so that I don't accidentally change the function. The reason that this is an issue is because the "hands" will start to make revolutions to go to the next function and can take a little while to return back to regular time. Very, very minor issue and is probably more me than the watch. The perpetual calendar is brilliant. I am spoiled rotten with the convenience and function of this watch, and I don't think I could ever go back to a watch that I have to change the battery or constantly change the day of the month. I would give this watch 10 stars if that was available. This watch is so accurate that I set everything else to it. Hopefully this review helps. This watch does not disappoint! I would not have reservations about buying it again, but this time I would buy it from Amazon.

The watch is very nice. I love the appearance and especially the perpetual calendar. No setting the date back and forth. Set and forget. The instructions are in micro text you will need a microscope to read them. They also sent the instructions on a CD so that helps a bunch.. It is light but thick, it is sized for a large wrist. The only fault I found was this watch has an alarm that can only be heard when you have the watch held to your ear. I have emailed Citizen support but have not received their reply as I write this review. ( I won't use the alarm often so this is not a huge disappointment for me but I have read about others having the same issue)
I am very pleased overall and it is a good value

This was purchased as a gift for my husband and he loves it! The numbers and dials are more easily visible than other watches we had considered. I was a little afraid of the colors, but when you see it in reality, the colors are great. The perpetual calendar and eco-drive system were the primary selling points for us. We have not had any of the problems listed in other reviews, such as function or comfort,or any difficulty in setting the watch. Pictures from the website were very helpful and it was exactly as it appeared online. He was surprised and remains very happy,which makes me very happy with this purchase.

I bought this watch a couple of months ago and have been using it continuously ever since as my main watch. The eco-drive technology appears to work very well. For example, if the watch is not exposed to light for a few seconds, the second hand stops moving to conserve energy, although the hour and minute hand continue to operate. The alarm function is very useful (though, as expected, not very loud) and of course, one never needs to worry about the beeping wearing the battery out.

One annoying feature of the watch is that in order to access the various functions and settings, you often have to wait for the hands to automatically move to the right position. For example, if you want to set the time for the alarm and move the knob to the ALM position, the watch hands will move through the necessary number of hour cycles in order to show the last alarm time that was set. So if the current time is 1600 and if you last set an alarm for 0600, the minute hand will complete 10 revolutions (reverse order) in order to come to 0600. After this, you set your new time - say 0700, and set the dial back to TME (time) mode. The minute hand will now move through 9 revolutions to come back to 1600. This sort of thing happens EVERY time you want to alter any of the time-related states, and in a watch, that is pretty much all you ever do! As far as I can tell - there is no way to make the hands go faster (i.e. by turning the knob yourself). Of course, I don't really use the extra features that much so it is a niggle that I am happy to put up with.
 

This is a very light-weight and attractive watch that anyone would be proud to own. The numerous functions (time, alarm, chrono, local time) are easy to understand with the well-written manual. The dial is listed as a dark blue, but under most light it's practically black. In very bright light or direct sunlight, the dial looks like the color on the Amazon listing.
