Star Wars: The Old Republic Guide to the Classes and Races

BioWare, a subsidiary of Ea will be releasing their most recent massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (Mmorpg), Star Wars: The Old Republic (Swtor) early in 2011. Leveling up, skill optimization, questing, interacting with Npc as well as solo and group play which are prevalent elements of a Mmorpg would be ready in Swtor as well. In addition, Star Wars the Old Republic would be featuring new elements along with space combat and crew skills.

For fans of Star Wars, obviously the most discussed topic is the storyline and the ready races and classes. Swtor gives Star Wars fans a occasion to play and rule the fate of their popular character.

Star War

In terms of the ready species, or in the more tasteless gaming term 'races', BioWare will be production a total of eight races ready based on real characters in the Star Wars film by LucasArts. The ready races are: Chiss, Human, Miraluka, Mirialan, Rattaki, Sith Pureblook, Twi'lek and Zabrak. Given that not all classes would be ready to each race, it's best to do a check on the ready classes for each race and what the class offers before production a character choice.

Here's an overview of the class and race combinations. For more details about each class, details from topic-specific fan sites such as the Swtor Smuggler, Swtor Trooper, Swtor Sith Warrior and Swtor Imperial Agent websites would prove to come in handy.

Star War

For players wanting to play a Jedi Consular, the ready races are Human and Mirialan. For the Jedi Knight, you'd need to have a Human, Miraluka or Zabrak character. Humans along with the Twi'lek class would be able to play the Smuggler class. The Trooper, the fourth Republic class, would be ready to the Human, Mirialan and Zabrak races.

Above is an overview for the Galactic Republic. For the Sith Empire, you'd need to have a Human or Rattaki character to play a Bounty Hunter. For the Imperial agent class, make sure to roll out a Chiss or Human. Humans would also be able to play the other two Sith Empire classes, the Sith Inquisitor and Sith Warrior. As a Zabrak, you'd also be able to play as a Sith Inquisitor. Besides Human, the only other character that can play as a Sith Warrior is a Sith Pureblood. Consideration that Humans is the only race that could play all the eight classes.

This article provides an overview of the classes and races, for more in-depth details about the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire, in other words, the factions, getting a Swtor strategy guide or similar reference would be recommended.

Star War

Are you finding for a Star Wars: The Old Republic Guide? Well, unfortunately I can't write a faultless one here, to cover all the slices of game content. However, in this post I'm going to supply you with a quick summary on the Swtor classes.

By reading this brief Star Wars: The Old Republic Guide, you will understand without reading too much what role can each Swtor class fulfill, and hopefully you will make the right selection when creating your character and choosing a specialization tree.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Guide - Swtor Republic Classes Quick overview

Star Wars: The Old Republic Guide - Swtor Republic Classes Quick overview

If you choose to play on the good side of the force, joining the Galactic Republic faction, you can choose from four separate main classes: Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, Smuggler and Trooper.

Star War

The Jedi Knight. This class excels at close combat. As a Jedi Knight you can choose to be Guardian (tank), wielding one lightsaber and heavy armor or Sentinel (melee Dps) wielding two one-handed lightsabers and inflicting high amounts of close range Dps. As a Jk, you will be relying specially on lightsaber attacks, and most of them have awesome animation.

Star War

The Jedi Consular. This type of jedi, is more of a caster type, speaking in Mmo terms. You can follow two paths as a Jedi Consular, Shadow and Sage. If you're going to follow the Sage specialization, depending on the skill tree that you will choose, you can become either a force-healer of a force-wielding damage dealer. The Shadow Jedi Consulars on the other hand are double-blade lightsaber damage dealers, which also receive a stealth quality and stealth-based attacks.

The Smuggler. There's no doubt this is the cunning class of the Republic, with a solid arsenal of crowd operate and crippling attacks. As a Smuggler you can be a Gunslinger, dual-wielding two blasters, focusing on accurate ranged Dps, or you can choose the Scoundrel specialization, which can either act as a healer or off-healer, or as a Dps class with stealth and stealth-based ranged attacks.

The Trooper. The last class to be mentioned in this Star Wars: The Old Republic guide for the Republic faction is the heavy assault, ranged Dps class - the Trooper. Although they use heavy machine guns or rifles, Troopers can cover all the roles in the game, tank, healer or heavy Dps, depending on advancement specialization and skill tree they choose. The two paths a Trooper can choose from are Commando and Vanguard. As a Commando you can be either an master gunner relying on a heavy attack cannon, or a combat medic. On the other hand, as a Vanguard you can become a medium ranged Dps, with quite a few lively short range attacks, or a shield specialist, which boosts their armor factor becoming able to keep abundance of heavy damage and hold aggro - that would be a tank role.

My choice: I like the Smuggler class a lot. Seems like a certainly flexible class and has quite a few cool moves that certainly stuck to me, and with permissible training and equipment, it makes hell of a Dps.

Do you wish to master each side of Swtor content, playing a Galactic Republic class?
